More abortion facilities have asked for special treatment: we need your help once again! Friday, June 26th is the deadline!Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are once again asking Pennsylvania officials for special treatment, prioritizing profit over women’s health.
Public comments close Friday, so Pennsylvanians have only a short time to speak out.
Pennsylvania’s Abortion Control Act includes several common-sense regulations on abortion facilities, including requiring a blood test before an abortion to help prevent future complications. Yet the abortion industry is once again putting profits over patients by requesting an exemption from this requirement.
Pennsylvania law requires this testing for a reason. But the abortion industry continues pushing for fewer rules, fewer protections, and fewer standards, all while demanding unrestricted abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, funded by taxpayers.
Pennsylvania has seen the deadly consequences before when health officials gave the abortion industry a pass. The horrific failures surrounding abortionist Kermit Gosnell happened in part because “the Pennsylvania Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all.” (Gosnell Grand Jury Report, pg 9).
The PA Department of Health should enforce the law, not neglect its duties or carve out exemptions for the abortion industry.
Please contact the PA Department of Health before Friday’s deadline and urge officials to reject this special exception request and enforce Pennsylvania law equally for everyone.
