Call on Steam to Protect Children and Stop Glorifying Sexual Violence!

Steam, a popular gaming marketplace, hosts thousands of sexually explicit games, many of which normalize and encourage sexual violence. These games are accessible to children by default. Steam has no age verification to access adult games; users need only click a button confirming they are over 18. Further, even when parental controls are activated on a child's account, the child can still watch previews to adult games—many of which are pornographic and sexually violent in themselves. For example, NCOSE researchers encountered previews for games that graphically depicted women being raped, whipped, and tortured.
