For the Water, For the People, For the Future. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is proposing a major MoPac South expansion, adding new toll and auxiliary lanes across 8.8 miles over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone. The proposal calls for 6-8 additional lanes, disrupting wildlife habitats, increasing traffic and pollution, putting our water and neighborhoods at risk from increased polluted runoff, significantly degraded air quality, and 5-7 years of construction. Despite the scale of the project, CTRMA is pushing this project forward without a full Environmental Impact Statement, declaring a "Finding of No Significant Impact" (FONSI) and refusing less harmful alternatives.
