Submit Your Public Comment on the Proposed MoPac South Expansion
CTRMA public input closes May 3, 2026. You may submit more than one comment.

For the Water, For the People, For the Future. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is proposing a major MoPac South expansion, adding new toll and auxiliary lanes across 8.8 miles over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone. The proposal calls for 6-8 additional lanes, disrupting wildlife habitats, increasing traffic and pollution, putting our water and neighborhoods at risk from increased polluted runoff, significantly degraded air quality, and 5-7 years of construction.  Despite the scale of the project, CTRMA is pushing this project forward without a full Environmental Impact Statement, declaring a "Finding of No Significant Impact" (FONSI) and refusing less harmful alternatives.

Your Voice Matters. Please take a few minutes to submit a personalized comment to CTRMA. Share why Austin’s water, endangered wildlife, beloved Greenbelt trails, and community health matter to you.

  • Describe how your community and your commute would be affected.
  • Be specific. If you live, work, recreate, or go to school nearby the impacted area, let them know!
  • Urge a full, transparent Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
