Petition to Congress: Expand Medicare to Include Vision, Hearing, and Dental Benefits

Traditional Medicare does not provide comprehensive coverage for routine vision, hearing, and dental care. As a result, millions of seniors delay or forgo necessary treatment due to cost, leading to preventable health complications, diminished quality of life, and higher long-term medical expenses.

Adding vision, hearing, and dental benefits to Medicare would promote preventive care, help reduce falls and injuries, decrease social isolation, and prevent serious health conditions linked to untreated oral disease. Expanding coverage would support healthier aging, protect seniors’ independence, and reduce costly emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

Congress should act to strengthen Medicare by including comprehensive vision, hearing, and dental coverage to ensure older Americans receive the complete care they need and deserve.
