Urge KY Legislators to Protect Your Tax Dollars From Abuse

During the past couple legislative sessions, your tax dollars have been spent advocating for pro-LGBTQ+, pro-abortion, and anti-family legislation while opposing religious liberty. This is made possible through taxpayer-funded lobbying, a practice that allows government entities to hire lobbyists (with your tax dollars) to lobby the General Assembly. This wasteful and abusive practice must end!

Rep. Felicia Rabourn has introduced HB 394, which would ban taxpayer-funded lobbying in Kentucky. This bill would prohibit taxpayer-funded entities from hiring lobbyists with your tax dollars. A violation of this prohibition would result in criminal charges. This is a commonsense bill that protects the taxpayers.

Additionally, legislators have filed bills to crack down on the illegal use of tax dollars and taxpayer resources to advocate on ballot issues, such as constitutional amendments and tax recalls. Rep. Kim Holloway has introduced HB 323, which would require government social media pages to keep their comments section open and would prohibit government entities from using taxpayer-funded resources to advocate on political issues. Sen. Steve Rawlings has introduced SB 59, which would add penalties to the laws that prohibit illegal campaigning with taxpayer resources. Taxpayers should be able to make their voices heard without getting drown out by bureaucrats using their tax dollars against them.

Please take action today to encourage the General Assembly to stop the wasteful and illegal use of your tax dollars by supporting HB 394, HB 323, and SB 59.
