Urge KY Legislators to Bring Ten Commandments Back to KY Schools
Building on the successful efforts from last session to restore the Ten Commandments monument to the Kentucky Capitol grounds and with a more conservative U.S. Supreme Court that has been willing to restore a proper understanding of the First Amendment, the Kentucky General Assembly is well positioned to finally restore the Ten Commandments to Kentucky classrooms.HB 670 from Rep. Josh Calloway and Rep. Richard White would require Kentucky schools to display the Ten Commandments and an explanation of their impact on American history in every Kentucky public school classroom & in every public college and university. This bill would reinstate the law the Supreme Court overturned in the wrongly-decided 1980 Stone v. Graham decision with a few updates to better reflect the intent of the law. HB 670 would also add the Ten Commandments to the list of historic documents that schools may utilize during classroom discussion. The Ten Commandments had an immense impact on American history and on the legal principles that made our country and Commonwealth so strong throughout history. Please ask the General Assembly to restore the Ten Commandments to KY schools by passing HB 670.
