Urge the KY General Assembly to Protect Medical Conscience Rights!

Last session, the General Assembly almost got the medical conscience bill across the finish line. This important pro-life and pro-family bill overwhelmingly passed the Senate, but, unfortunately, House leadership refused to call it for a vote in the final hours of session. However, the General Assembly is well positioned to finally address this issue by enacting comprehensive conscience protections in state law.

SB 72 by Sen. Donald Douglas would prevent doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals from being forced to perform harmful or unethical procedures that violate their oath and conscience. Likewise, it would enable patients to know that their doctors have full confidence in the treatments they recommend and perform.

Kentucky healthcare professionals should not be forced to do or recommend procedures that violate their sincerely held religious or ethical beliefs. Please urge your legislators to support SB 72.
