Help Stop the Prostitution Legalization Bill
Massachusetts is moving toward decriminalizing prostitution. H.2467, An Act to study the decriminalization of sex work, proposes creating a commission to study this issue, marking the first step in making prostitution legal. While the bill doesn’t immediately legalize prostitution, it rebrands exploitation as “sex work,” ignoring the realities of coercion, abuse, and poverty that drive most into the trade. Decriminalization would strip law enforcement of critical tools to combat trafficking and protect victims, while empowering pimps and buyers.
Worse, the commission is stacked with pro-decriminalization voices, excluding survivors, law enforcement, and recovery advocates, making the outcome predetermined. Massachusetts must reject this bill and protect the vulnerable, not those who profit from their exploitation.
Contact your legislator today and tell them to oppose H.2467 and its profound consequences for public safety, human dignity, and the fight against human trafficking by reporting this bill ought not to pass, or by voting NO if it comes to the floor for a vote.
