These destructive cuts will undermine our nation’s capacity for research and innovation while also slowing the crucial development of future therapies and cures. Every delay wastes valuable time and resources—time and resources that could be spent helping families, supporting caregivers, and saving the lives of patients.

Your representatives in Congress need to understand why research is important. While it’s helpful for public officials to hear from their constituents about the need for research funding, this outreach does not always fully convey the urgency of robust support for new treatments and cures. Policymakers need to hear how their decisions impact Americans living with or caring for a loved one with a deadly or debilitating disease.
