Encourage KY Legislators to Protect Our Kids From Online Harms

UPDATE: HB 208, Rep. Josh Bray's cell phone ban in schools, passed the House 98-0 and Senate Committee and only awaits a final vote of the full Senate.

Rep. Josh Bray has introduced HB 208, which would ban phones in schools during instruction time and ban social media on school Wi-Fi. This bill would ensure that kids are focused on their education instead of the latest online trends.

Additionally, Rep. Matt Lockett has introduced HB 12, which would require social media websites to verify the ages of their users. HB 12 bans social media websites from allowing kids aged 13 or under from creating accounts and requires parental consent for kids aged 14 and 15. Kids, especially those under 14, should be protected from predatory social media companies.

Please take action today, so that Kentucky can proactively protect our children from online harms.
