Kids Can't Wait: Urge Your Representatives to Pass the Kids Online Safety Act Urgently!

With only a little time left in the 118th Congressional session, it is imperative and urgent that Congress pass the Kids Online Safety Act (H.R. 7891).

Fatalities and serious harm to minors continue as a result of specific practices and features developed for social media platforms. Despite facilitating unprecedented fatalities and serious harms to minors, tech platforms refuse to take responsibility for the harms their platforms caused to children. To combat any attempt to hold them accountable, they have spread
misinformation WRT the Kids Online Safety Act, which passed the Senate 91-3 in July and is widely considered the most comprehensive child protection legislation moving through Congress

America’s children cannot wait one more day, let alone one more legislative session, for the important protections offered by KOSA. Congress must take action – Big Tech has proved that it is incapable of policing itself.

Your Representatives need to hear that kids and families can’t wait. Please ask them to watch the replay of NCOSE's briefing on the legal importance of KOSA and call on House Leadership to pass this important bill.

Dear Representative [First name, Last name],

I am a constituent in your state, and I am writing to remind you that the House has only a few weeks to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (H.R. 7891). KOSA is the most comprehensive child protection bill pending in Congress today. America's children need you to cosponsor and support the Kids Online Safety Act!

There is irrefutable evidence that Big Tech is endangering America’s youth. Fatalities and serious harm to minors continue as a result of specific practices and features developed for social media platforms. Despite facilitating unprecedented fatalities and serious harms to minors, tech platforms refuse to take responsibility for the harms their platforms caused to children. To stop any attempt from holding them accountable for the harms they have caused, they have spread misinformation about KOSA.

As your constituent, I ask that you urge your staff to watch the replay of a virtual issue briefing on the Legal Case for the Kids Online Safety Act hosted by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.
This briefing featured survivor parents and subject matter experts and highlighted the need for KOSA in the courts. You can watch the livestream replay here.

KOSA has widespread national support, with over 200 national, state, and local organizations supporting the Kids Online Safety Act. The time is now: Congress must pass KOSA to protect our youth. There are no more excuses.

Please stand up to Big Tech and join us to be a champion for America’s Youth. Please cosponsor KOSA, and urge Speaker Johnson and Leader Scalise to bring KOSA to the House Floor.

Sincerely,
