<div>I am writing you today in opposition to a casino in New Haven, or anywhere in Northeast Indiana. The proposal to bring a casino to New Haven comes at a time when runaway inflation impacts all of us and many struggle to buy groceries, gas, and medicine. Add to that the mental health and rampant drug abuse crisis left in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is easy to see that the strain on families and individuals is at a breaking point without the added impact of “get rich quick” temptations from a casino.</div> <div> </div> <div>A casino will harm local businesses, put a strain on local law enforcement, lower property values, and encourage risky behaviors while changing the family-friendly character of our community forever.</div> <div> <br />I urge you to oppose any state legislation introduced in the 2025 legislative session that would authorize a casino in Allen County.</div>
