As the end of the 2024 Fiscal Year approaches on September 30, Congress has yet to finalize the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) budget. To prevent a government shutdown, lawmakers must pass a continuing resolution (CR) this month to temporarily extend current funding while they negotiate FY25 funding levels. However, some members of Congress are advocating for a long-term CR of six months or more and disagreements over proposed legislation and additional funding priorities increase the risk of a deadlock. If a bipartisan, bicameral agreement on the CR isn't reached, a government shutdown could occur. Use the email template below to urge your elected representatives to work together to prevent a shutdown and expedite the completion of the budget process.Note: Your contact information is collected to connect you to your representatives in Congress and enable them to respond to you directly.
