SB 238 / HB 819 - Don’t mandate health coverage of abortion causing drugs and violate religious conscience objections.

These bills would require health plans to cover everything the FDA defines as contraception – including some drugs that can cause abortions like Ella or Ulipristal, which works the same way as the “abortion pill” RU-486 (mifepristone).  There are no protections for religious or moral objections to covering contraceptives and drugs that cause abortions – raising the same issues at the center of the Hobby Lobby and the Little Sisters of the Poor cases.
