Congress Needs to Protect Parental Rights

The Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act was just introduced in Congress by US Senator Tim Scott (R-SC).

This Act would ensure federal law respects parents’ fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children, such as making school choices or medical decisions. No government official or policy should run roughshod over these rights just because they disagree with parents. This Act will ensure such actions are subjected to the strictest legal standards.

We need your help to get it passed!

Please Cosponsor the
Families’ Rights & Responsibilities Act

I am writing to ask you to cosponsor the Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act. This bill ensures parental rights are protected in federal law.

Parents know and love their children best. Parents have the fundamental right to protect the upbringing of their children, and no government official should ignore or overrule parents simply because they disagree with a parent’s school or medical decision for their children. By ensuring the highest standard of legal review when federal policies burden parental rights, this Act will protect parents' ability to raise their children.

Please cosponsor the Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act. By doing so, you will demonstrate your commitment to protecting parental rights in federal law.

Sincerely,
