Student Privacy Act: Protecting Students Privacy & Safety in Locker Rooms & Restrooms

Multiple Kentucky school districts are actively violating the privacy of their students in restrooms, locker rooms, and overnight accommodations by allowing biological males to access the distinctly private facilities of female students. Compounding the wrong, this is often done while keeping parents in the dark about the school’s policies.

Thankfully, Rep. Bill Wesley has filed HB 30, the Student Privacy Act, a commonsense bill to ensure that every student has the right to privacy from the opposite sex in locker rooms, restrooms, and showers. Letting boys into girls’ showers, restrooms, or locker rooms does not respect other students privacy and safety. The protection of students' privacy rights in showers, restrooms, and locker rooms should not depend on others’ beliefs about their gender.

Act today and tell your Kentucky legislators to cosponsor and support HB 30, the commonsense Student Privacy Act!
