Parental Rights Protection Act: Protecting Families in Kentucky
URGENT UPDATE: Time is running out to pass a meaningful parental rights bill! The Senate has passed SB 150 by Sen. Max Wise, but SB 150 lacks many of the necessary protections for parents and students found in HB 177, HB 30, and HB 173. Take action below to urge KY House and Senate leadership to strengthen and pass SB 150 with meaningful protections!
Original Alert: Kentuckians know that parents, not the Government, have the right and responsibility to direct the upbringing of their children. Yet attacks on the fundamental rights of parents are growing daily. Thankfully, Rep. Shane Baker has filed HB 177, the Parental Rights Protection Act, to ensure that parents are empowered to protect their God-given right to direct their children’s upbringing, education, and healthcare. Since last session, the KY Dept. of Education issued an LGBTQI “toolkit” for all Kentucky public schools with pronoun “guidance” that trampled on parental rights, and reports have even surfaced of LGBT indoctrination in classrooms as early as third grade. It's time to stop this woke madness in our schools.
The Parental Rights Protection Act affirms that parental rights are fundamental. It safeguards children by prohibiting age-inappropriate promotion of sexual orientation & gender identity topics, and it allows schools and families to benefit from informed and active parental involvement.
Act today and tell your KY legislators and House & Senate Leadership to support a strengthened SB 150!
